Script for our Oscar Winning Opening :)

Shot 1

The screen is pitch black, then slowly focuses onto an office scene with Connor Mcaspurren resting his head on a brief case on the table. This scene is filmed using a side shot. The camera moves to the right ever so slightly, until Connor lifts his head as if just waking up from a rough night. The sound used in this shot will be the buzzing of the light bulb on the ceiling. The room will be quite light, as the light bulb is quite old and flickers a couple of times extremely quickly. Props used are papers on the table and the school uniform as it looks formal. This shot will last for around 4 seconds.

Shot 2

As soon as Connor lifts his head, the camera cuts to the other side of him, using a continuous shot. The kight then stops flickering. This is also a long shot used. The sound used is still the buzzing of the light. This shows how quiet the atmosphere is for these two shots. This shot will last for 3-4 seconds.

Shot 3

Camera is looking up at him, from the brief cases point of view. Connor is staring at the briefcase, trying to remember where he got it from. This is when voices are beginning to be heard. 5 second shot.

Shot 4

The camera cuts to Connors hands, which click open the buttons for the briefcase. This is to create suspense. The camera then cuts to a long shot of Connor opening it, without the audience being able to see. He then closes it slowly, looking shocked and confused. 5-6 seconds long.

Shot 5

The camera cuts to a close up of Connor with his hands over his face. The faint voices start being heard in the background, to make it seem that Connor is remembering it from the night before. At this point, the light has stopped buzzing, so voices can be heard clearly. The voices say these lines “This is the briefcase” “It is very important” “DO NOT mess this up” “She WILL find you”. The voices begin to overlap with each other, then 2 loud gun shots are heard. When hands begin to move away from Connors face, the shot ends. 5 seconds long.

Shot 6

Camera cuts to a long shot at same time as Connor slams his hands onto the table. Eerie music begins to play. Screen fades to black, and credits wipe in saying “a ManBag Production”. The font used will be something like Copperplate Gothic Bold. Credits fade away slowly, screen focuses onto the next shot. Shot lasts for 6-7 seconds.

Shot 7

Shot stays on the long shot with Connor sitting at the table with briefcase. Connor slowly looks up from table and makes eye contact with the camera. As soon as Connor gets up, fast paced music starts playing for a sudden tense and gripped effect. Connor grabs his briefcase and runs out of shot. 4 seconds.

Shot 8

Shot cuts to a close-up of Connor’s hand grabbing his coat from coat hanger. Drumming music still playing. This makes the audience why he is running away from/to something. 1-2 second shot.

Shot 9

Cuts to a medium shot of Connor opening and running out of the office door. Screen fades to black and credits swipe in saying “Music by Shannon Mackinnon” “Ryan Campbell as camera man”. 6-7 second shot including credits.

Shot 10

Immediately after credits, the camera cuts to a close up shot of Connor walking down a street. The street needs to be quiet to create a ghostly effect or busy to create a crowded effect. Sounds used are cars going by and Connor’s footsteps. 5 second shot.

Shot 11

Cuts to a long shot, filmed across the road, with Connor walking quite fast, but looking around nervously. Screen fades again to black. Mysterious music starts playing again. Credits fade in saying “Starring Connor Mcaspurren and Shannon Mackinnon.” 8 second shot.

Shot 12

Scene appears showing a close up shot of Connor’s face, looking paranoid about something. Camera shows Shannon (the killer) in background standing in a bus stop. Camera quickly cuts to a point of view shot, showing Connor looking straight at her. Camera cuts back to Connor, who turns around and begins to walk away. At this point, fast-paced music begins to play again to create suspense. Black screen appears, credits swipe in saying “Edited by Ryan Campbell and James Williamson.” 13 second Shot.

Shot 13

Camera cuts to an upward shot of Connor looking petrified. Camera is shaking quite frantically through this shot. Fast-paced music continues to play, gradually gets louder. Heartbeats are also heard, to show that he is scared. Screen fades to black again (fast-paced music still playing during credits) and last credits fade in saying “Directed by James Williamson”. Fades back to Connor running, camera still in same place. Heartbeats increase aswell as music. Screen immediately turns black, at the same time as music and heartbeats stopping. 10-11 second shot.

Shot 14

Cuts to long shot of Shannon holding a gun. She lifts the gun up, pointing it at Connor’s face. Connor drops the brief case in shock. Heartbeats are at a steady pace at this point, and breathing is heavy but slow. Shannon says to him “I knew I would find you” and she cocks the gun. Straight after, the screen turns black. No gun shot is heard. The title “Dark Temptations” slowly fades in.
