The short film that i have chosen it Silence is Golden it is a 15 minute film that was directed by Chris Shepherd, it is set in 1970s England and is about a young boy called Billy’s obbsession with his estranged neigbour Dennis who spends most of his time banging on his wall, which really annoys Billys mother and eventually drives her bonkers, the story is mainly centered around Billy and the relationship he shares with Dennis, this is usually Billy tormenting Dennis which is probably the reason for Dennis banging on the walls.
The film is quite funny as there are a few punchy lines in it but in many ways the film is also quite a touching story as, well i dont really want to give away the ending but its touching as in a way Billy eventually realises he misses Dennis when he is gone which then causes him to start behaving in a strange manner.
The film is mostly action footage but also has animation in it, i think the animation is very cleverly used as it manages to show the mind of a young boy and his feelings.
For those of you who would like to watch the film and write a more in depth review of the film the link is http://www.bbc.co.uk/filmnetwork/films/p004vwxy

What a great find Ellis. That had me laughing out loud in places. So inventive and creative throughout, and it really touches on what it means to be a child. And Dennis… what a guy!
