Roles, and Schedule
Today in class we were deciding what roles each of us was going to have. So that when it came round to the production of our opening scene, it would be easier as we should already know what we have to do.We were also creating a story board, so when it came to filming, the camera person would know what to do.
So our roles are: Chloe, is going to be the camera person, Tristan would be the director, he also created the story board, Connor would be the editor, and i would take something to do with the cast. Yet, we will all probably have a go at everything, just to try it.
We also attempted to make a schedule on what we would like to have finished week by week, but we didnt get very far, so will have to finish that tomorrow or something.
We also went through the storyboard as a group, and i pointed out something that wouldn’t work if we were trying to conceal the ‘villians’ face. So we then looked back and took inspiration from the opening of ‘The Usual Suspect’, when ‘Keyser Soze’ shoots ‘Dean Keaton’. We used this to find out the ways the camera angles were shot to hide Keyser’s face, so that we could use this for our film, to hide our villians face, and keep it a secret.

Hi Shona-Isla,
Am delighted to see your blog take shape and it is an inspiration to everyone in the class.
Regarding what role you might take in your group - I think it’s great that you want to have a go at most things, but you want to make sure that you don’t spread yourself too thinly. Therefore, have you thought about making be in charge of sound design and the music? These are two separate aspects, but are essential to creating the right atmosphere and mood in an opening. If you are interested in pursuing this avenue, it might be worth tracking down sound effects and some copyright free music (this site is pretty good for this www.jamendo.com).
I also think that you might want to appear in the film - you have a certain style that would suit this. Be imaginative, creative, and keep having fun with the production!
